The challenge
In 2017, we trained 163 community promoters in the Taï area; in 2019, we strengthened local trainers and supported rice producers. To spread good practices among cassava and rice growers, the GIZ PROFIAB programme relies on community promoters and trainers.
How the assignment unfolded
To change the practices of cassava and rice producers, the programme relied on community promoters. In 2017, we trained 163 community promoters in farming practices and in managing cassava stem multiplication plots, so that they would pass these practices on around them. In 2019, we came back to strengthen the capacities of local trainers and to provide organisational support to rice producers.
